Terms of use

Last updated: 23 July 2026 · Draft pending legal review

About these terms

These terms govern your use of the MicroInterns website and matching service, operated by MicroInterns Ltd (company number SC832651), ABVenture Zone, MacRobert Building, Aberdeen AB24 3FX. By using the site you agree to them. Each micro-internship placement is additionally governed by a project agreement issued before work starts.

The service

MicroInterns matches students with short, paid, project-based placements at startups and SMEs. We facilitate the match, the scope and the payment arrangements; we are not the employer of students and not a recruitment agency for permanent roles. Posting a project or applying to one is a request to be matched, not a guarantee of a match.

For students

Using MicroInterns is free for students. You agree that the information in your applications is accurate, that you have the right to work in the UK for the placements you apply to, and that work you submit for a project is your own. MicroSkill Passport entries record verified work and cannot be edited to misrepresent it.

For startups

You agree that posted projects are genuine, lawful, and paid at or above the agreed band; that project scopes describe the work honestly; and that students are engaged for the agreed duration and deliverable. Fees for the service are set out in your project agreement.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise, the site and service are provided with reasonable skill and care, and our total liability in connection with the website is limited to £100 or the fees you have paid us in the previous 12 months, whichever is higher.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
